A six-part framework for auditing product content

Score one product across identity, attributes, use cases, FAQ, authority, and freshness, then turn the weakest area into a specific edit.

For: Shopify content and operations teams that need a shared quality standard across many products.

What you can do after reading: Score one product with the BestFeed AI framework and turn the result into field-level work.

This six-part audit is a BestFeed AI product method. It is not an official standard from Google, Shopify, or every AI platform. Its purpose is to give a team a common way to discuss product content, not to create an official "AI ranking score."

How scoring works

Score each area from 0 to 5. Zero means the information is absent. One means it is badly incomplete or contradictory. Two provides basic information but cannot support a buying decision. Three is mostly complete with clear gaps. Four is clear, accurate, and generally consistent. Five is complete, consistent, verifiable, and appropriate for the category.

You can convert the result to a 0 to 100 score, but use that number for prioritization only.

1. Product identity

Check that the title names the real category, distinguishes the model or defining specification, explains the main use near the top, and uses the brand name consistently. A series name by itself is weak. So is a title packed with search terms.

2. Structured attributes

Review the category's required size, material, capacity, color, and compatibility fields. Values should agree across variants, body copy, and metafields. Numbers need units, and attribute names should stay consistent. Shopify metafields extend custom data, while category metafields supply attributes tied to a product category.[1]

3. Intent and use cases

Say who uses the product, where they use it, the task it supports, its limits, and how it differs from a similar option. Tie every use case to a fact. If a page calls something easy to carry, the weight or dimensions should support the claim.

4. FAQ

Use real buying questions. Answer directly, include cases where the product is unsuitable, and keep shipping, returns, and warranty answers consistent with store policy.

5. Authority

Identify the brand and seller. Verify certifications, testing, and material claims. Keep contact and policy pages working, and separate product facts from marketing copy.

6. Freshness

Confirm that specifications, images, compatibility, and policies still apply. Record who last reviewed the page and when.

Example

AreaScoreFinding
Identity4/5Category and capacity are clear
Attributes2/5Material grade and dimensions are missing
Use cases3/5Commute use is present, limits are not
FAQ1/5No cleaning or seal guidance
Authority3/5Brand is clear, material claim has no source
Freshness4/5Reviewed recently

The sensible next step is to add the material grade, dimensions, cleaning FAQ, and source for the material claim, not to rewrite the whole page.

Do not misuse the score

  • Do not call it an official Google or ChatGPT score.
  • Do not promise that a high score brings traffic.
  • Do not add repetitive copy to raise a number.
  • Do not let a total score hide the weak field.
  • Do not let AI change factual fields without review.

Google states that meeting requirements and best practices does not guarantee crawling, indexing, or display.[2]

Score one important product today

Add an evidence location beside each of the six scores. Ignore the total at first and work on the lowest area. Add one comparison attribute, answer one real FAQ, or verify one changing price, availability, policy, or specification. Keep the scorecard and the completed edit for the next review.
