How to write a Shopify product page that is easier to understand

A product page structure for clear identity, comparable facts, useful buying answers, and consistent structured data.

For: Merchants and content teams creating or rewriting Shopify product pages.

What you can do after reading: Build a page structure and check that visible copy agrees with product fields and structured data.

A page that is easier for an AI system to understand should be easier for a customer to understand first. Google's guidance for AI search calls for reliable, people-first content, important information in visible text, and structured data that matches the page.[1]

1. Use the title to identify the product

A useful formula is brand or series, product category, and one defining detail. "Urban Flow Max" is vague. "Urban Flow Max 750 ml stainless steel insulated bottle" identifies the item without stuffing every attribute into the title.

2. Open with the customer's task

In two or three sentences, say who the product suits, the problem it addresses, and the main difference. For example: "Designed for people who carry a drink through a long commute. The 750 ml capacity reduces refills, and the screw top works in a backpack. Do not use it for carbonated drinks." The paragraph includes both a use case and a limit.

3. Give comparable facts

AttributeExample
Capacity750 ml
Body material304 stainless steel
SizeAbout 8 x 25 cm
WeightAbout 420 g
DrinksHot and cold drinks, not carbonated drinks

Numbers need units. Values must agree with variants, images, and metafields.

Shopify product details can include title, description, media, category, price, inventory, variants, metafields, status, and sales channels. Shopify also advises resellers to write their own descriptions instead of copying a manufacturer's full text.[2]

4. Connect specifications to use

Do not repeat the table. Explain what 750 ml means for a long commute, whether 420 g is comfortable to carry, whether the bottle fits common cup holders, and which drinks are unsuitable. Stay within the verified facts.

5. Answer the questions that block a purchase

If the product requires hand washing, say so when answering "Is it dishwasher safe?" If there is no evidence for a completely leakproof claim, explain the correct closure and the situations the product is not designed for.

6. Make policy and identity easy to find

Link to shipping, returns, warranty, the seller, and contact information. Do not leave all of it in a hard-to-find footer.

7. Keep structured data honest

Google Product structured data can describe price, availability, reviews, shipping, returns, and variants. Google recommends accurate, complete product data where it is available, but the platform decides which enhanced results to show.[3] Do not add a price, review, or claim that the visible page does not support.

Pre-publish check

  • The title names the category.
  • The opening covers the customer, task, and difference.
  • Important attributes have units.
  • Use cases have factual support.
  • The FAQ answers real questions and includes limits.
  • Variants, metafields, body copy, and structured data agree.
  • The page remains readable on a phone.

BestFeed AI can review missing areas and prepare candidate titles, SEO copy, tags, and metafields. Review material, dimensions, compatibility, and safety information field by field.

Rewrite the first three mobile screens today

Choose one important product. Fix the title so it identifies the item, write an opening that covers the user and task, and add a short set of verified attributes with units. Review the first three screens on a phone. A customer should understand what the product is and whether it fits without opening every accordion.

Urban Flow Max

Urban Flow Max 750 ml
