Most WISMO questions arrive when a customer cannot connect an order to a current shipment status. A useful fix starts with the page the customer sees, not with another internal status label.
Give customers a self-service lookup
Let customers search with a tracking number or the order number and email combination your workflow supports. Keep the entry point on your store domain so the page feels like part of the purchase experience.
Explain the status in plain language
Show the latest event, the carrier reference and any known next step. If there are multiple packages, make the relationship between the order and each package easy to follow. Avoid promising a delivery date when the carrier has not supplied one.
Use notifications to answer the next question
Send updates for meaningful events and link each message back to the tracking page. A message that says what changed and where to check the full timeline is more useful than a sequence of generic “in transit” emails.
Measure the gaps
Review which statuses lead to questions and which shipment exceptions need a clearer explanation. BestTrack provides a branded tracking page and order lookup for this workflow. You can also read the order status notification guide.
